About Malin — and about the book

The Menopause Handbook was born out of a simple frustration: when things were at their worst — the sleepless nights, the hot flashes in the middle of meetings, the feeling of losing yourself — there was no book that both understood and helped. There were clinical leaflets without warmth, and upbeat posts without substance. But not the voice from the kitchen table: someone who has been in it, who tells the truth about how hard it is, and then hands over a concrete plan.

This book is an attempt to write that voice.

Who is Malin?

Malin is a pen name and a narrative voice. The story in the book is a composite portrayal — built from the experiences shared by very many women aged 45–60: the creeping start around 46, the nights with soaked sheets, the brain fog, the healthcare visits that end with “it's just normal”, the family that doesn't quite understand. If you recognise yourself in Malin, it is because her story is built from exactly what so many go through — perhaps you too.

We say this openly because trust is the whole point of the book. The form is a story; the advice is real — in line with established Swedish health sources. And the product tips in the final chapter are clearly marked as affiliate links.
